As the academic year ends, it’s essential to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our students who have worked diligently throughout the year. At Jefferson County K-12 School (JCS), we understand the importance of acknowledging their hard work and dedication, especially as they undergo testing to showcase their knowledge and skills. One of the highlights of our academic calendar is the Acaletics Math End of Year Green Party, where students who meet their academic goals are celebrated and rewarded for their efforts. This year’s event was a resounding success, thanks to the support of our community partners and dedicated staff members.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Denisha Keaton, owner of Uraina’s Haven, a valued community partner, who played a pivotal role in making the event a memorable experience for our students. Their generous contributions, including cupcakes and face painting, added an extra touch of excitement and joy to the festivities. Uraina’s Haven’s team also coordinated the outreach for other vendors to join in the festivities.
We also want to express our appreciation to the other businesses and individuals who generously supported the event. Circle of Fun, operated by Caris, kid entrepreneur, provided two bounce houses and a cotton candy machine, delighting more than 80 students with sweet treats and fun activities. Essence Hinson, owner of Cookie Angel 850, contributed funds for teacher and student gift baskets, spreading joy and highlighting our gratitude for our educators and learners. Additionally, Vironshay Walker, owner of All Fun and Games 850, provided several yard games, adding a playful element to the celebration.
Behind the scenes, Dr. Walker, dedicated math coach and organizer of the yearlong math celebrations, played a crucial role in organizing and coordinating the event. Her passion for education and commitment to student success were evident throughout the planning process, ensuring that the Acaletics Math End of Year Green Party was a memorable and rewarding experience for all involved. “Coach Walker” distributed matching shirts to the Math Teachers naming them Acaletics All-Star for the commitment to process and dedication throughout the year.
As we reflect on the success of this year’s event, we are reminded of the importance of celebrating both student and teacher achievements and fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Congratulations to all our students for their hard work! A special congratulations to Joneisha Oliver and Reign Carillo for scoring a perfect score on the final Acaletics test. Congratulations are in order as well for the third-grade team (Vickie McWilliams, Indy Mack and Polly Day). They had the highest math scores in the school!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the Acaletics Math End of Year Green Party a success. Together, we celebrate our students’ accomplishments and look forward to continued success in the years to come.
