Faith Kipyegon has made history by becoming the first Kenyan woman to be named “athlete of the year”.
The 29-year-old picked up the World Athletics award for best female track athlete in Monaco.
It follows a stunning season in which she set three world records, won two global titles and added another Diamond League trophy to her collection. She puts her achievements down to self-belief.
