Southern Connecticut State University Athletics & Recreation featured 284 student-athletes placed on the Northeast-10 Conference Spring 2024 Academic Honor Roll.
Of the 284 student-athletes, 40 received Academic Excellence recognition after registering a 4.00 grade-point average for the Spring semester. The Owls also had 147 student-athletes finish with a GPA of 3.50 to 3.99 and were recognized with Academic Distinction honors. The remaining 97 student-athletes received Academic Honors with a GPA from 3.00 to 3.49.
As a department, the Owls compiled a 3.167 GPA for the semester and a 3.231 cumulative GPA for its 480 student-athletes. Not counted toward the NE10 Academic Honor Roll were the 30 student-athletes from the gymnastics program that compete in the Gymnastics East Conference. Of note, that program also featured eight student-athletes with a 4.00 GPA.
Gymnastics also had a semester-best 3.556 GPA among the Owls’ 17 programs, followed by women’s cross country (3.492), softball (3.477), women’s track & field (3.471) and women’s lacrosse (3.387), which edged women’s soccer (3.38) by percentage points. Women’s volleyball (3.294) and Women’s swimming & diving (3.275) also posted team GPA’s of 3.00-or-higher.
On the men’s side, baseball had the top male team GPA at 3.377 while men’s soccer (3.222), men’s swimming & diving (3.052) and men’s track & field (3.038) all had team cumulative GPA’s of 3.00-or-higher.
