Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) has announced that it has received a historic 10-year commitment of $100 million from the Nationwide Foundation.
This landmark commitment highlights the public launch of the hospital’s “Empower the Possible” campaign and with other gifts brings the campaign’s fundraising total to more than $270 million, more than halfway to the campaign goal of $500 million.
And it represents the largest ever corporate foundation commitment to a children’s hospital in the United States with the goal of enabling NCH to realize its long-term strategic plan aimed at transforming health outcomes for children locally and around the world.
“We’ve witnessed firsthand the impact of Nationwide Foundation’s previous contributions – the cutting-edge treatments, the breakthroughs in research and the personalized care that transforms lives,” said Chad Jester, president of the Nationwide Foundation. “But we also recognize there’s more work to be done, so I’m thrilled about this new chapter and look forward to seeing the impact the Nationwide Foundation and others have in the years to come.”
The Nationwide Foundation has a long history of supporting NCH, with philanthropic contributions including a $50 million historic gift in 2006 and annual gifts of $10 million through the Nationwide Foundation Pediatric Innovation Fund. These donations have supported cutting-edge treatment and discovery through integrated clinical care and research, quality care for all children, the expansion and sharing of the Hospital Model of Care, and increased support for Genomics Research and Personalized Medicine.
The Nationwide Foundation made a $10 million donation in both 2022 and 2023 and the Nationwide Foundation Trustees recently approved and made a $10 million donation for 2024. Additional Nationwide Foundation commitments of $10 million annually through 2031 are contingent upon annual approval by the Nationwide Foundation Trustees.
Nationwide Children’s CEO expressed gratitude for the continued support of the Nationwide Foundation.
“We are deeply grateful for the continued support of the Nationwide Foundation,” said Tim Robinson, CEO of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. “This historic announcement represents a commitment to the future of children’s health and a belief in the world-class care provided by our team at NCH. We are honored to have the Nationwide Foundation as a leading contributor to our campaign and we hope others will join in supporting our mission to revolutionize pediatric health.”
This historic commitment from the Nationwide Foundation is a testament to the importance of investing in children’s health and the transformative impact it can have. Nationwide Children’s Hospital is poised to continue its mission of providing world-class care to children in need, thanks in part to the generosity of the Nationwide Foundation.
