LG Elementary Student Selected For Leadership Academy

Gage Stott, a student at La Grange Elementary School in La Grange ISD, has been selected to travel to Dallas/Fort Worth to participate in a summer 2024 Lone Star Leadership Academy camp. Gage’s selection was based on his outstanding academic success, demonstrated leadership ability, involvement in school and community activities, and a nomination from his teacher, Tenille Adamcik.

Gage will join a delegation of outstanding students from across the state to develop leadership skills while learning about the great state of Texas and its leaders. He will visit significant sites in the Dallas/Fort Worth area including the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, the American Airlines CR Smith Museum, and the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. He will also participate in teambuilding activities at Group Dynamix and tour Dallas Cowboys Stadium, the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. Additionally, Gage will learn about future career and internship opportunities through career speaker presentations at sites visited.

Texas educators facilitate Lone Star Leadership Academy camps including leadership groups where Gage and the other participants will examine qualities of effective leaders, practice leadership skills, and discuss what they learn at sites visited. In addition, Gage will have fun meeting other outstanding students and making new friends while adding to his resume of academic achievements, developing leadership skills, and bringing home a wealth of information to supplement what he is learning in school.
