Dr. Kevin Theodore Hart, Sr. is living proof that grace transforms and that faith fuels lasting impact. A devoted pastor, father of five, educator, and community advocate, Dr. Hart has made it his life’s mission to serve the overlooked and inspire hope in those the world has written off. “My life is a testament,” he says, “that nothing is too hard for God.”
In October 2010, Dr. Hart was appointed Interim Pastor of Christian Tabernacle Church of God, officially becoming Senior Pastor in May 2011. His leadership has been marked by authenticity, vision, and a fervent call to heal brokenness through love. “The challenge I give to the church is simple,” he shares. “Love first, and ask questions later.” This mantra echoes through every sermon, every outreach, and every initiative he touches.
When asked what motivates him, Dr. Hart is clear: “It’s about people—about being the hands and heart of God to those in need.” That purpose extends far beyond the pulpit. As Executive Director of the Love First Child Development Center, a nationally accredited institution with three locations, he ensures young minds are nurtured in love and purpose. He also leads Pick Up the Pieces, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects proven programs with underserved communities in critical need of resources.
A respected civic leader, Dr. Hart serves as co-chairman of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Faith Advisory Board Crisis Response and Support Committee and was recently appointed to the Board of Project Bridges, strengthening partnerships between faith and public safety sectors.
Dr. Hart’s academic path reflects his commitment to excellence in ministry, with studies at Southern Baptist Bible College, Howard University School of Divinity, Virginia Union’s Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology (M.Div.), and Payne Theological Seminary (Doctorate).
