-Meet the Fleet :: Stockdale Center for Ethical…

The Meet the Fleet programs sends faculty, staff, and coaches on experiential learning opportunities aboard a Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carrier and the Marine Corps Basic School. These programs allow participants to witness first hand the experiences their students undergo following Commissioning.

Meet the Fleet Programs:

Professors at Sea:

Experience a brief underway aboard a United States Aircraft Carrier! Previous participants have described this experience as “unforgettable” and “invaluable” as they can now speak personally to what life is like aboard a Navy ship.

Influencers in the Field:

Experience the life of a United States Marine 2ndLt as they undergo initial Infantry Platoon Commander training at Quantico, VA.

Participants have the opportunity to watch their former Midshipmen conduct training in skills such as Machine Gun Squad Tactics, Water Survival, Land Navigation, and Field Training Exercises .

As close to a third of the Brigade reports to Quantico for training upon commissioning as Marine Corps Officers. The Influencers in the Field experience gives participants insight into the first training environment newly commissioned 2ndLts report to, and in turn allows faculty to better facilitate learning for the many midshipmen who aspire to serve as Marines.
