Mental health policy change a case where our elected leaders actually deserve praise – San Diego Union-Tribune


Re “Thousands of people seeking help did not get a police response. That’s a good thing.” (April 20): This deserves wider coverage. Thousands of times a year, police are freed up from mental health calls. This is more efficient for the police and gets people in need the qualified help they need.

This is good news. Not a puff piece about knitting sweaters for kittens. Too rare. Government should get some kudos.
