MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Family Promise, a local non-profit aimed at helping homeless families achieve sustainable independence, recently received a generous donation from Odessa College students in Philanthropy.
Family Promise said this contribution will provide support for covering sports registration fees and equipment costs for children enrolled in the program.
For many homeless families, the financial burden of sports registration and equipment fees is prohibitive, preventing children from participating in extracurricular activities. With this donation, Family Promise said it will be able to alleviate this financial strain and ensure children in the program can engage in sports activities.
“We are immensely grateful to OC students in Philanthropy for their generous donation. This contribution will make a meaningful difference in the lives of homeless families by allowing their children to participate in sports activities, fostering their physical, social, and emotional development,” said Executive Director Tom Miller.
Family Promise aside access to sports programs can have a transformative impact for families experiencing homelessness, providing opportunities for skill-building, teamwork, and personal growth.
