A team of Aurora folks attended the Rural Philanthropy Summit on May 8 at the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield.
The theme was “Creating Thriving Communities” and it was co-hosted by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and Philanthropy Missouri.
On hand for Aurora were: Kim McCully-Mobley, Michele Parbury (Aurora Area Community Foundation coordinator), John Paul Lee, Jason Whitesell (who claims both Aurora and Ash Grove) and Mike Thach (AACF president).
McCully-Mobley and Lee are both AACF board members. Discussions focused on leveraging resources, having relevant dialogue, creating a strong vision and having a good idea of the needs of rural communities.
