In every chapter of Dr. Curtis W. Younger Jr.’s life—Marine, police officer, community mentor, and now aspiring business owner—one thing remains constant: a resolute commitment to serving others. From the streets of Philadelphia to national veterans’ networks, Dr. Younger has dedicated his life to protecting, guiding, and uplifting those around him.

His journey began with humble roots in Philadelphia and took shape when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1985. There, he learned the value of structure, discipline, and teamwork—qualities that would define his future. One defining moment in his career came during his tenure with the Philadelphia Police Department’s elite Highway Patrol Unit. Earning numerous commendations, including the Purple Heart, Dr. Younger risked his life to protect others while building community trust.

Yet, Dr. Younger’s impact extends far beyond his badge. “I want my story to inspire others to keep pushing—no matter how impossible something may seem,” he shares, quoting his personal mantra from Nelson Mandela: “Everything seems impossible until it’s done.” Whether mentoring young men through sports or championing homeless veterans through the Herculean Effort Foundation, his life reflects service in action.

As Executive Officer of Mu Beta Phi Military Fraternity, Inc., Dr. Younger leads programs that empower veterans through education, employment, and housing. His Liberty Works Program alone has successfully employed over 3,000 veterans—an initiative he holds close to his heart. “My community and my family have always been my foundation,” he says. “Their support fuels my drive to give back and make meaningful change.”

Looking ahead, Dr. Younger is channeling his energy into real estate development with a vision to build a 200-bed shelter for homeless veterans—a full-circle moment of service rooted in love, leadership, and legacy.
