Tabitha orphanage showcases  creative talent festival


Children of the Tabitha orphanage home, last Sunday, showcased their talents in creative arts, music and dance during the Art, Dance and Music festival at Alliance Franciase, Ibadan.

The event which was hosted by the French office in Ibadan was aimed at highlighting the beauty in creative arts, music and dance.  Addressing guests at the event, the director, Tabitha home, Mrs Febisola Okonkwo said creative arts, together with music and dance were aspects of entertainment, culture, tradition while also forming a part of our belief system. She stressed the need to invest in children in this regard as well.

“We need to highlight the effectiveness of creative arts, music and dance in our culture, tradition and belief system. Talent abounds in our children as you can see here today. It is important to encourage these children to identify their creative abilities and excel in it”, she told Friday Treat.

Mr Jean Akinsanmi, the director, Alliance Franciase, Ibadan said the centre promotes arts and culture as part of its learning activities and they were delighted to be part of the children’s learning journey.

Presenting some of their crafts, Janet Ojo, one of the children said that Mrs Okonkwo encouraged them to learn a vocation of their interest and they were privileged to showcase their crafts. Guests at the event were thrilled by various displays of dance and music by the children.
