We Will Have A Rich Intl Cultural Exchange – French Filmmaker


French filmmaker, writer and costume designer, Anna Deluche has assured prospective participants that the 2024 Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF) of a rich international cultural exchange.

Deluche who was referencing the festival’s theme Cinema & Cultural Exchange said she alongside her fellow jurors, both international and local, has screened hundreds of films from different parts of the world including the UK, US, Australia, France, Nepal, India, Nigeria, and Uganda, the latter of which had the largest country submissions.

With the variety of films, countries and cultures represented in submitted films Deluche said, “we have definitely reached this international and cultural exchange that we are talking about in the festival. We strongly encourage you to come check it out. It starts August 27 to 31, in Kaduna State, Nigeria.”

Filming since the age of 12, Deluche studied Cinema at the La Sorbonne, France, from whence her passion for film took her to one of the ten best graduate film schools in the US, the University of Texas, Austin.

The merging of her two backgrounds – resulted in her creation of fable-like films with heightened visual universe, but her works remained focused on people often dealing with themes of familial relations, inner struggles or conflicts, the power of the imagination, among others.

Her films include Smith (2017) her first American film; The Best Medicine (2019), Mother of the Golds (2017), and the artistic music video collaboration with Nepali rapper Uniq Poet, and poet, Bhattrai Basnet titled Suryodaya: An Ode To Prem Acharya (2024).
