UNESCO works to ensure that every individual has access to high-quality education regardless of their socio-economic status, gender, ethnicity, or location. Enhancing quality education for all is not only a matter of ensuring equal opportunities but also a key driver of societal progress and prosperity. While 244 million children and youth are still out of school globally, UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) indicates 6,710,426 to be in Tanzania. UNESCO works with the government of Tanzania to increase enrolment, equip individuals with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and creativity necessary to adapt to an ever-changing world with challenges, such as climate change, health crises, and social injustices. By investing in and prioritizing quality education for all, we empower individuals to reach their full potential, build more inclusive societies, and pave the way for a sustainable and flourishing future for generations to come.
