Panaji: Goa as a tourist destination should embody both environmental conservation and cultural preservation, said tourism director Suneel Anchipaka.
Interactions with industry leaders and tourism stakeholders have strengthened the tourism department’s resolve to ensure that Goa’s tourism sector remains sustainable, Anchipaka said at the conclusion of the Arabian Travel Mart at the Dubai World Trade Centre where the Goa pavilion was opened by Indian ambassador to the UAE Sanjay Sudhir.
From hinterland exploration to spiritual tourism, the pavilion showcased Goa’s sustainable and cultural initiatives, including 11 temples and the upcoming St Francis Xavier Exposition.
“Goa as a destination, cherishes both environmental conservation and cultural preservation, and our interactions with industry leaders, travellers, and stakeholders have strengthened our resolve to advance sustainable tourism initiatives. The department’s unwavering commitment incorporates innovative practices that not only enrich the visitor experience but also safeguard Goa’s natural and cultural heritage for future generations,” said the tourism director.
The Goa Tourism delegation included private industry players such as Spice Route Tours and Travels, Yoska (Ironman 70.3) and Sunset Getaways.
