“I started at Puget Sound with a passion for business but quickly realised it wasn’t my true calling. While I enjoyed the courses, they didn’t ignite the same passion I felt for politics and philosophy. I switched majors and haven’t looked back. The university’s career office has been incredibly helpful as I apply for summer 2025 internships, providing a detailed checklist to stay organised. I also love how our study abroad programme makes it easy to use scholarships for international experiences.
Regarding leadership, I’m a president of a couple of organisations. I’ve found that my classes best intersect with leadership in these roles. For example, I’ve had a couple of classes that required some pretty heavy public speaking. Some of our politics classes and freshman seminars are great for this. Essentially, you study the subject for the first half of the semester, and then in the second half, you act it out or role-play the history.”
