Staff from Epsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals were presented awards in 10 categories, including “positive attitude” and “patient choice”.
Long serving staff members, three of whom have worked in the NHS for over 40 years, were given framed certificates for serving at least 15 years.
Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust’s chief executive, Matthew Hopkins, said: “This is my first time attending these awards and I am genuinely heartened by the stories I hear about everyone who received a nomination, including those who were not winners or runners up.
“It reaffirms my belief that we have many inspirational and dedicated people working across our hospitals. “Not only do they strive to improve the care and support we give to our patients, they are also a great example to other staff.
“Whether they have a patient-facing role or working behind the scenes, each individual or team celebrated here goes the extra mile.” Awards were presented in 10 categories, including the Chairman’s Cup for the most significant contribution to improving patients’ experience; and the ‘Front of House’ award for improving the hospital experience for visitors and patients.
