Current Impact and Achievements
In Hindustan Zinc’s ongoing Education Support Program, students have shown outstanding results, particularly in the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education’s 10th-grade examinations. More than 8,000 students from grades 6 to 12 are currently benefiting from this initiative.
Recent Academic Achievements
Recently released results from the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education show a commendable performance by students enrolled in Hindustan Zinc’s Education Support Program. The pass percentage stands at 91%, with 37% of students achieving first-class honors. Out of 66 government schools, 24 recorded a 100% pass rate, while 48 schools achieved results above 90%.
Progress Over Financial Year 2016
Since its inception in 2016, the program has witnessed significant improvement, with overall pass rates rising from 67% to 91%. The percentage of students achieving first-class honors has also risen sharply from 14% to 37%, while the percentage of unsuccessful students has dropped from 33% to 4%.
Special Recognitions
This year, 133 students from the 10th grade were honored with the prestigious Gargi Award. Similarly, recent results from the 12th-grade Science stream under the Education Support Program revealed an impressive success rate of 99.31%. The Science stream comprises 13 senior secondary schools supported by Hindustan Zinc across 7 districts and 6 locations, benefiting a total of 195 students.
Comprehensive Educational Support
Under the Education Support Program, Hindustan Zinc provides additional teachers in government schools, along with teaching materials. Vocational sessions in agriculture, animal husbandry, and electrical trades are conducted to provide practical learning experiences. The program also enhances students’ study capabilities through laboratories and libraries, promoting intellectual clarity.
Holistic Development Initiatives
During summer breaks, month-long summer camps focus on comprehensive development, alongside rigorous academic preparation. Similarly, winter breaks involve providing desk work for exam-oriented preparations, ensuring thorough readiness for exams.
Initiative Details and Goals
Launched in 2017 in partnership with Vidya Bhawan as a technological partner, the initiative aims to guide deserving students from government schools who lack proper guidance and resources for higher education. This year, students from grades 6 to 12 in 7 districts—Udaipur, Salumber, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Shahpura, and Ajmer—benefit from subject-specific facilities through additional teachers. In 2024, 120 students from the 10th grade enrolled in the Education Support Program were honored with the Gargi Award.
