Orlando: EU committed to preserving Libyan cultural identity


The EU Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, has called for the protection of Libyan cultural heritage and its preservation from looting and vandalism.

He shared his remarks on his X account, commenting on his participation in a workshop organized by the TAIEX program, which provides technical assistance and information exchange in various fields on behalf of the Union.

The workshop, held in collaboration with the Antiquities Protection Police and the Tourist Police, was attended by 20 experts from 5 countries, as well as archaeological missions from Italy and France.

The European official expressed the Union’s pleasure in contributing to protecting and preserving Libyan heritage, deeming it vital to enhancing national unity.
