The Pierre/Fort Pierre Area Community Foundation and Youth Philanthropy Fund recently distributed nearly $35,000 in grants to 21 community organizations.
Foundation President Kate Olson says the groups are doing great work for the Pierre/Fort Pierre area. She says the two endowed funds have granted a total of nearly $548,000 to local nonprofits.
Te fund is a permanent endowment held with South Dakota Community Foundation and is managed by a local advisory council. Olson hopes all Pierre/Fort Pierre area residents consider the foundation when making charitable gifts.
