The new National Education Policy has mostly received good words from all arenas of political spectrum. Now, lauding the NEP is Bollywood filmmaker Prakash Jha who is known for movies like Gangaajal, Raajneeti, Satyagraha and Aarakshan among others.
The filmmaker feels it will pave the way for a transformed education system in India and ensure equal opportunity for children.
“This will pave the way for a transformed education system in India and ensure universal access and equal opportunity to children of the country to obtain quality education,” he was quoted as saying by IANS.
Interestingly, Jha’s new film Pareeksha: The Final Test also addresses the issue of equality in education. Inspired by real event, the film talks about how quality education still remains inaccessible to many and how the situations keeps dividing society.
“Pareeksha: The Final Test highlights the importance of quality and holistic education for the poorest in our country as it’s the biggest leveller of society. I applaud NEP 2020’s decision to allocate six per cent of GDP to the education sector and capping the fee charged by educational institutions,” he said.
The film starring Adil Hussain, Priyanka Bose, Sanjay Suri and child actor Shubham Jha is slated to release on Aug 6 on Zee5.
