As we mark World Environment Day on June 5th, we are reminded of the urgent need to protect and restore our planet. The UNICEF Young Reporters take the lead in advocating for environmental conservation through various initiatives, including radio talks, focus group discussions, poetry, and social media content creation. This year’s theme is “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience,” highlighting our planet’s critical issues.
They highlight the importance of climate finance and the need for collective responsibility to preserve the environment by planting trees, reducing the use of plastics, and practising proper waste disposal. They urge the government to support schools in promoting environment clubs and integrating climate change into their curriculum.
