The Giving Circle Fund of Eastern Carolina Community Foundation, Women in Philanthropy (WiP), is excited to announce the launch of the 2024 grant cycle to nonprofit organizations within the foundation’s seven counties of Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marlboro, Marion and Williamsburg. Nonprofit organizations are invited to apply from May 10 — June 28, 2024.
WiP grants support organizations which address existing or emerging community needs in health, nutrition, poverty and/or assistance to victims of violence or neglect. Up to $7,000 per organization will be awarded to qualified 501©(3) nonprofit groups within the seven counties. Grant funding is made possible through annual contributions from over 100 WiP members, with each member having one vote on the final grant proposals received. In 2023, WiP grants totaled $60,000 to Pee Dee area nonprofit organizations. Grantees awarded for two consecutive years must refrain from applying for a minimum of one year. All WiP funding must be utilized within the year of receipt.
Since inception, WiP has awarded over $700,000 in grant awards to area nonprofits who address the needs of residents. “Our giving circle helps meet the need of nonprofits by combining resources to maximize our philanthropic contribution to the community.
Nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply for this funding,” WiP President Carrington Wingard.

Women in Philanthropy was founded in 2009, as a special giving circle fund based on the philosophy that informed philanthropic women collectively can make a difference in improving the quality of life in the Pee Dee area, by combining their financial and intellectual resources through the power of small grants.
