Afghanistan and China Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Cultural Preservation Efforts – Bakhtar News Agency, BNA


 

KABUL (BNA) In a meeting held today, Monday in Kabul, Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhah, and Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan, Zhao Xing, underscored the importance of preserving historical relics and cultural heritage while strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, Minister Khairkhah expressed his gratitude for China’s longstanding support and emphasized the nation’s respect for Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He commended China as a good neighbor and highlighted the mutual desire to establish strong relations.

Ambassador Xing praised the existing cooperation between Afghanistan and China, particularly in the cultural and economic sectors. He stressed the need for collaboration in preserving cultural relics, specifically mentioning the Mes Aynak project, and sought the support and cooperation of the Ministry of Information and Culture.

In response, Minister Khairkhah affirmed that the protection of cultural relics is not limited to a single country but is a shared responsibility of all nations. He reiterated that protecting Afghanistan’s cultural heritage is one of the top priorities of the Ministry of Information and Culture.

The Minister and Ambassador discussed the importance of implementing the Mes Aynak project in a manner that ensures the preservation of cultural relics without causing damage. Both parties agreed on the significance of safeguarding and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Afghanistan, which holds immense historical and archaeological value.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to further strengthen cultural and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and China.

The Ministry of Information and Culture affirmed its dedication to protecting Afghanistan’s historical monuments and cultural heritage while expressing gratitude for China’s support in this endeavor.
